It’s been more than a year, since Manuel produced a vollraute abroad episode. But, guess who’s back?
And we’re going to sightly change the concept. Whenever possible Manuel invites his new co-host Alexis, who lives in Cologne but is a season-ticket holder in Borussia-Park. Please give him a warm welcome :-)
For a start the two talk you thru a little wrap-up of the off-season and give an outlook to what lies ahead. We hope you like it.

The Bundesliga is back and Gladbach is being tested straight away by Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke 04 in away games, whereas Augsburg will visit the third-place Foals in between to collect points from Dieter Hecking’s side to avoid relegation. Manuel talks you through these match-ups, but only after he’s revisited the very successful Hinrunde for Borussia and the talking points of the winter break.

Manuel briefly discusses the 4-1 victory over Hannover 96 and the 0-2 defeat to RB Leipzig before focussing on the current midfield constellation in the team. Why is the – still undefeated – axis Hofmann-Strobl-Neuhaus preferred to the likes of Zakaria and Kramer? Furthermore, will the Foals see a slump in form after Matthias Ginter’s head injury, which will see him out for two months at minimum?

Gladbach remains no.2 in German football after a convincing 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen, with top transfer Alassane Plea netting three goals at the Weser. Previously, Gladbach had beaten Mainz (4-0) and Duesseldorf (3-0) at home, and lost to Freiburg (1-3) and, on a dark night at Borussia-Park, 0-5 to Rhine rivals Bayer Leverkusen. Manuel talks you through these matches and gives a brief outlook on the next match vs. Hannover 96 after the international matches break.

Vollraute abroad takes a look at Gladbach’s performances up to the second break for the national squad fixtures: the last of several convincing performances saw the Foals take all three points from Bayern Munich (3-0) at the Allianz-Arena – the highest defeat for Bayern at home since 2005 and the first away win for Borussia since February! Manuel highlights the outstanding players of recent weeks and how the 4-3-3 system have changed things for better for coach Dieter Hecking. On third place, Gladbach will host Mainz at home after the international break to take a sweep at leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Good start to the 18/19 season for Gladbach with an emphatic 11-1 win in the Cup competition against Hastedt and an eventually convincing home victory on Matchday 1, 2-0 to highly rated Bayer Levekusen. The Foals then travelled to Augsburg where 23€M signing Allasane Plea bagged a goal to get the team a 1-1 draw. Manuel talks you through these games and takes a look at both the new signings and the new 4-3-3, and how the squad adapts to this new formation.
