077 Retreat of the body snatchers

Finally: the turn-around! Manuel and Alexis muse on how sheer luck and good passing football so suddenly und unexpectedly returned in the match against Freiburg. Then: an emotional debate about controversial refereeing decisions and the heroic, epic battle of 10 good men in Berlin. And of course your absolutely impartial experts on all things Borussia Mönchengladbach provide you with all you need to know about Adi Hütter, presently coach of sensationally in-form Eintracht Frankfurt, and soon-to-be coach of the best club in the world.
For legendary goals, we, yet again, couldn’t resist Juan Arango, this time with a mind-melting 35-yard rollercoaster strike against Frankfurt in 2012.

076 I can't go on, I'll go on.

Manuel and Alexis analyse Borussia Mönchengladbach’s performances in the month of March, a true mensis horribilis. Does the win against Schalke 04 mean light at the end of the tunnel? Can Marco Rose go on? There has definitely been a shift in opinion regarding our future ex-manager succumbing to the Forces of Evil. In our Legendary Goals section, a tribute to one of Borussia’s greats, Lothar Matthäus, a player who always gave everything for his team and recently celebrated his 60th birthday.
For this podcast’s title, it’s back to literature for the quote.

075 Bear the unbearable

1-2 v Mainz, 0-2 v City and 2-3 v Leipzig – Manuel and Alexis try to make sense of the downward spiral that set off (or accelerated) after Rose’s announced departure in the Summer: attacking football is dead and the team is still conceding goals. In the centre of attention: the coach. Manuel also goes on a rant about tactical v individual coaching and why Rose is therefore to blame for the meek performances while Alexis quotes the Japanese emperor’s radio address to his people at the end of WWII…
Our legendary goal of the week come from mullet-sporting extraordinaire Frank Schulz, 1991 vs Bayer during an emphatic 5-2 away victory. No video available; here’s the Sportschau ‘Goal of the Month’ link:

061 2020 - Guess who's back

It’s been more than a year, since Manuel produced a vollraute abroad episode. But, guess who’s back?
And we’re going to sightly change the concept. Whenever possible Manuel invites his new co-host Alexis, who lives in Cologne but is a season-ticket holder in Borussia-Park. Please give him a warm welcome :-)

For a start the two talk you thru a little wrap-up of the off-season and give an outlook to what lies ahead. We hope you like it.

059 2019/wk03 - First tests on the road

The Bundesliga is back and Gladbach is being tested straight away by Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke 04 in away games, whereas Augsburg will visit the third-place Foals in between to collect points from Dieter Hecking’s side to avoid relegation. Manuel talks you through these match-ups, but only after he’s revisited the very successful Hinrunde for Borussia and the talking points of the winter break.

054 2018/wk54 - Season wrap-up

Long time no hear! Sorry for that, we’ve been very busy last weeks and months, however, it’s never too late to talk you through the wrap-up of the last season. Although, a little distance to the season finale might be an advantage.

Let’s see, Manuel talks you through the season finale, looks on the performance of the squad and tries an outlook to the upcoming transfer window.

Thanks for your patience and your support during the past and hopefully you tune in again when your all news Borussia Mönchengladbach podcast returns after the WC.

053 2018/wk03 - Utterly disappointing

The pod is back with a bang – the Rhine derby is on the menu, and boy was it a rotten menu. A 1-2 defeat to archrivals Cologne with the decisive goal in the last seconds of the match leaves all Borussia supports heartbroken. Raffael had equalized for the Foals, but an overall meek performance was, again, not enough to beat a feisty opposition. Manuel runs you through the game and quickly discusses the two talking points of the winter break, the signing of Reece Oxford and Max Eberl’s vocal outburst against the supporters during the HSV match.

052 2017/wk44 - The Good - The Bad - The Ugly

Borussia on sixth position after matchday ten in the Bundesliga, last sixteen in the DFB cup. But it has been a continuation of the ups and downs we’ve seen at the beginning of the season – great win in Hoffenheim, biggest defeat at Borussia-Park history against Leverkusen (1-5). Manuel summarizes the six games and discusses the take home messages from these past couple of weeks.
